The Infraction System

RestrictedBB.com now works on a system of Warnings and Infractions. Each member holds 9 points (regardless of how many accounts they have) and any breach in the rules deemed serious enough for action will receive a warning, or a number of infraction points.

Every infraction point given has a lifetime of 1 week. It is therefore a very fair system and only those really pushing the system will receive a ban. You can work off any points you have received as time passes, and Moderators can reverse infractions given if an appeal is asked for.

Deliberately promoting something that may be harmful to another member: 3
Glamorising / encouraging alcohol/drugs: 2
Promoting Competitor Sites: 3
Discrimination (racism, sexism etc.) where unintentional: 1
Discrimination (racism, sexism etc.) where intentional: 4
Cybering / pornographic conversations: 5
Links to sexual content: 3
Sexual conversation with underage members: 9
Sexual exposure to / contact with underage members: 25
Discussion regarding minor illegal activity (i.e. copying music, illegal downloads etc.): 1
Discussion regarding major illegal activity (i.e. drug taking, underage drinking etc.): 2
Posting images of a pornographic nature: 7
Intentional flaming, i.e. where the member has gone out of their way to upset another person: 7
Unintentional flaming, i.e. mean sarcasm: 4
Public complaints about Restricted.com (that haven't been taken to Rick previously): 4
Offensive religious comments (anti- / pro-): 4
Links / spam to advertise / beneficial / personal gain reasons: 3
Anti-RestrictedBB.COM - i.e. I hate RestrictedBB / the moderators so much - posts: 4
Deliberately offensive / unpleasant / bullying remarks - very serious offence: 6
Talking in other languages / excessive use of "text speak": 1
Deliberate thread disruption / hijacking:5
Lying: 6
Emotional Blackmail:5
Being deliberately rude, sarcastic and / or argumentative: 5
Using other members' names / pretending to be another member: 5

As previously mentioned, each member has 9 points to start with, like the 9 lives of a cat. Any infraction points and warnings you have got will appear in your profile.

Each point you pick up has a lifetime of 1 week, so an offence that costs 3 points can be 'paid off' by three weeks of time passing afterwards. However should you commit the same violation during your second week of good behaviour and receive an infraction again for the same thing your good behaviour time will be extended to a further 3 weeks plus the additional week you were yet to complete.

If you reach a certain number of points, you are instantly auto banned - and this time scale is not affected by the lifetime of your points. Here is how the levels work :

9 points is a twenty-four-hour ban
12 is a three day ban
15 is a week ban
20 is a month ban
25 is a year ban.

If it is your first infraction and the rule you have broken carries 4 points or less you will be given a warning rather than an infraction this is to take into account people make mistakes and deserve a chance when it's only a minor rule violation. However this is down to staff discretion and on some rule violations such as links to sexual content staff do not have the power to overide the system and give just a warning the system will force an infraction.
